ABOUT THE TRAIL

Alongside the dynamic sophistication of the Gold Coast is a unique piece of the region’s history. A Village that blends a modern cosmopolitan lifestyle with echoes of its original settler and timber-getter past.

As a gateway to the hinterland, the combination of country charm with city convenience. This is evident in the style and architecture preserved throughout Mudgeeraba. Nowhere else on the Gold Coast will you find a Village Green in the middle of town, or an eclectic mix of the old and the new. From organic farms and horse paddocks to nationally awarded restaurants, a globally recognised spice brand, whisky lounges and some of the best coffee hangouts in the city.

The surrounding areas boast rich volcanic red soil, consistent rains and lush valleys. This translates to an abundance of fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, roadside stalls, and honey and dairy producers. The inspirational nature that winds through and around the hills has fostered a creative community of artists, craftspeople, designers, musicians, studios and workshops.

The Mudgeeraba area is also home to events that draw people from across the country. The nationally recognised Doyles Art Award, the Gold Coast’s premier art award and exhibition, is located here. You’ll also find the Somerset Storyfest Gold Coast Writer’s Festival, the largest in Australia. Our homespun annual agricultural show still gets those axes out for woodchopping displays, and our regular live music sessions in the town bring people with their picnic blankets to enjoy our cosy village atmosphere.
